| Disobedience - Biography In contrast with many other bands of this genre, our texts don't tell of violence, rage and death but of the very best alternative: the true message of God, the creator of the universe. Still we don't regard ourselves as preachers using heaps of words, but we let our songs speak by comining the strongest sound with the strongest message and add also some "traditional" extreme-metal clichés to our shows. Disobedience is a characteristic that mankind is born with and that separates us from God. But: "For God so loved the world that he gave us his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) So all we need to do is to accept this gift from God forgiveness of our sins, accepting Jesus as our personal saviour and therefore we will no longer have to live in separation to God. History 2000 "Disobedience" is called into life by Itamar (bass, vocals) and David (guitar). 2000-2003 Due to diverse problems with the line-up, only few live-experience was gained. In this time, Itamar played the bass temporarily in the Swiss Thrash/Speed Metal band "Detonation" that has been resolved by now. In summer of 2003, Abed-Nego (guitar), Mister T (drums) as well as a young bassist joined the band that now started to work hard on the songs and on a constant line-up. Slowly but steadily the band gets going. 2004 The week before the first gig the band separated from the bassist and the bass was handed back to Itamar. Within three days, he rehearsed the songs that he hadn't played for half a year. In March, the first major gig of the band took place: they opened the Saturday night concert of the first Elements Of Rock festival in Uster (CH) and played half an hour before bands like Immortal Souls, Slechtvalk, Veni Domine and others. For this gig, the band was partly supported by Jeff, a Brasilian bassist. Afterwards, the production of the first demo-CD took place. This CD is available at our homepage and also at Whirlwind Records, Germany. In autumn of 2004 and after two other concerts, the band separated from Mister T. He was then replaced by Armoth, a former Black Metal drummer from the beautiful canton Bern. 2005 In January, Disobedience supported "Seventh Avenue" at Nordpark, Aarau. This concert was organised by Disobedience and the Elements of Rock-Crew. It was a great evening and we will always remember it. There were really bad things around Disobedience who happened before this concert. But we always felt, that God is greater than all others. And we felt it through the whole year. The line-up of the band was completed with bassist Mesach and the female vocalist and keyboarder Shirel Berucha. The first concert with this line-up Disobedience played at the Härdöpfustock-open-air. Disobedience played three times at Nordpark, Aarau: In January with Seventh Avenue, on a band contest and at the Black Christmas-Festival. The first demo-cd now goes around the world. Some of it are in Mexico, USA, Brasil, Germany and Scandinavia and some magazines from South America and other parts of the world. The German underground-magazine "GUC" has written a good feedback to the cd. 2006 In January, our female vocalist Shirel Berucha left the band. The most time this year the band practised their old songs and wrote some new songs. They also had a producer who gave some good inputs to the band. Unfortunately, Disobedience had just 2 live-gigs. But to this 2 shows, we have really good remembrances; the open-air-gig at Fête de Lausanne and our concert with Disparaged at Wila ZH. 2007 In 2007 the band maybe could compile a good basis for their future career. We had to go through hard times, but the unity in the band never splitted off. The unity in the band has become stronger than ever. Since January 2006, the band is playing in the same line-up. This is the longest time ever, a Disobedience-Line-up has been together. Disobedience had 3 shows to play: At Nordpark, Aarau with the grind-core band Exhale (SWE), a show for Jesus Freaks, St. Gallen and the concert with Mortification (AUS), who was organised by Itamars old bandmembers in Detonation. The long awaited new bandlogo was introduced. We made a backdrop, stickers and shirts with it. At Elements of Rock 2007 Jan of Quam Libet Records introduced us to Mänu (Zeusproductions). This is the studio we will enter in january 2008 for the new recordings. 2008 The first half of this year, the band's way wasn't the way that the band wishes to go. Firstly, the cd-recordings were shifted, then they were cancelled. The things estimated themselves and suddenly Disobedience have to look after a new drummer. The way the band dedicated to go, was not easy. But at the end, this was the right way for all concerning. In springtime, the band was jamming with a young, fast drummer named Philippe. After a few jammings, Philippe joined the band as new drummer. 'Til September the band withdrew itself to practice the songs with their new line-up. This time, the band wrote a new song together who is called "Released from hell". Firstly we didn't think about playing live in 2008, suddenly the things went very fast. In the end of October we played a show at the very famous Swiss club Werk 21, Zurich at Psykos Bloody Metal Night. Only 3 days later Disobedience did the first German gig at the Blast of Eternity-Festival, Heilbronn. This festival was sold out and the crowd was hot a real metal party! Before this happenings, Disobedience had the chance to play a warm-up show for friends at the Schwarze Braut, Wila. So, at the end of the year, we are looking back to 3 great live-concerts. We are thankful, that God needs Disobedience in the future! 2009 Early 2009 the Band began to prepare for the recording-sessions. 6 songs plus intro were recorded. The EP, called "Of shadows and mercy" was released in mid-november under the banner of Quam-Libet-Records, Switzerland. "Walk the way" - one of the first recordings is used for the Quam-Libet-Records-Sampler "Heavy Metal Nation V". In spring 2009 our myspace-site was finished. The first uploaded songs were our classic 2004-release "Bloody war" and the first new recorded song "Invocation of the dark Newudliel". Disobedience played 3 festival-gigs this year: Metalophobia, Elements of Rock and Immortal Sphere. Especially the show at Elements of Rock was a very great experience. All bandmembers had lots of private interests to do this year, so the bands priority was to record the new EP. The last few months this year Disobedience was promoting the new EP to fanzines and concert-organisers. The Band also prepares a new live-set for promoting the EP-songs next year live as much as we can. 2010 The Diso-story goes on... |
